In 1949, the medical center was established with the purpose of providing Jewish and Black physicians a space to practice medicine with the freedom and dignity they deserve. Mount Sinai Medical Center offers patients access to three emergency centers across Miami-Dade County, including Hildebrandt Emergency Center, the only ER on Miami Beach. All of Mount Sinai’s emergency physicians are board-certified in emergency medicine by either the American Board of Emergency Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine.
