For 75 years, women throughout South Florida have continued to choose Mount Sinai Medical Center for some of their most precious moments. In addition to a caring staff who seeks to make every patient’s labor and delivery experience a happy and precious moment, Mount Sinai Medical Center also provides world-class obstetric and gynecologic medicine from a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, neonatologists, and anesthetists to ensure the best outcomes possible for mothers and babies.
As Mount Sinai continues to build toward the future, we are pleased to announce the expansive renovation of our Labor & Delivery floor, ensuring high-quality care for generations of families to come. Your support will enable Mount Sinai to provide continuity of compassion, care, and treasured memories for many families who are less privileged.

The reimagined Labor & Delivery floor will include the following:
- 24,196 square feet of renovated space, with a calming and tranquil environment
- 1 welcoming receiving area, which includes a family and visitor lounge and enhanced security checkpoints
- 2 spacious C-section suites, fully equipped with the latest in technology and amenities
- 3 larger labor, delivery, recovery, and post-recovery rooms
- 7 fully remodeled pre- and post-delivery rooms with calming finishes and in-room capabilities for both baby and mom
- 10 fully remodeled labor, delivery, and recovery suites, incorporating modern lighting technology and spa-like interior finishes
- Augmented care capabilities with new technological programs like PeriGen’s LaborWatch, NICView, and AngelEye

- The renovated space will provide a spa-like atmosphere for new families and a functional, bright space for staff.

- Extensive upgrades range from new, cutting-edge technologies to a modernized design aesthetic.

- Newly redesigned rooms feature PeriGen’s PeriWatch Surveillance and Vigilance system, an AI-assisted monitoring program, alongside calming finishes and in-room capabilities.

- With calming views of Biscayne Bay, the upgraded diagnostic suites will provide new mothers with a sense of safety and ease while they receive award-winning care.

- 60% of the 2,400 births in 2024 were covered by Medicaid
- An International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners certified lactation consultant sees every patient
- All Abess NICU patients are enrolled in the Developmental Follow-Up program, tracking progress and monitoring any early warning signs
- The department utilizes PeriGen’s PeriWatch Surveillance and Vigilance systems, AI-assisted monitoring programs, to maximize the level of care patients receive and prevent complications
