Dr. Juan C. Paramo is an attending surgeon in Surgical Oncology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center Comprehensive Cancer Center. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Paramo is an expert surgeon in the treatment of complex cases of breast cancer, thyroid cancer, melanoma, as well as sarcomas of the soft tissues. He is an expert in performing hidden scar techniques for the breast, as well as head and neck surgery, including minimally invasive endocrine surgery for the parathyroid glands.

Dr. Paramo is a graduate of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana School of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia. He completed his residency in General Surgery, as well as a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

    Dr. Juan C. Paramo is an attending surgeon in Surgical Oncology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center Comprehensive Cancer Center. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Paramo is an expert surgeon in the treatment of complex cases of breast cancer, thyroid cancer, melanoma, as well as sarcomas of the soft tissues. He is an expert in performing hidden scar techniques for the breast, as well as head and neck surgery, including minimally invasive endocrine surgery for the parathyroid glands.

    Dr. Paramo is a graduate of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana School of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia. He completed his residency in General Surgery, as well as a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

    Actively engaged in teaching, Dr. Paramo is Associate Professor of Surgery at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and Clinical Professor of Surgery at Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was also the Associate Program Director of the surgery residency program at Mount Sinai Medical Center for 10 years.

    Dr. Paramo is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Fellow of the International College of Surgeons and Fellow of the Society of Surgical Oncology. He is also the Chair of the Cancer Committee at Mount Sinai Medical Center, as well as the Florida Chair to the Commission on Cancer.

    Extensively published in all fields of oncologic surgery, Dr. Paramo has authored publications on breast cancer, thyroid cancer, endocrine surgery, melanoma and gastrointestinal cancers. Dr. Paramo also has a special interest in utilizing minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat complex cancer cases.
