Dr. Olivia N. Mechanic is a Harvard-trained, board-certified internist and cardiologist at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Dr. Mechanic completed her internal medicine and cardiology training at Harvard Medical School’s prestigious Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Mechanic specializes in identifying and treating disease, and also recognizes the importance of chronic disease prevention. She tailors her practice to emphasize healthy aging, longevity, and the prevention of disabilities stemming from chronic and cardiac-related diseases.

Dr. Mechanic’s clinical expertise encompasses complex cardiac conditions, including coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, and arrhythmias. She also specializes in cardiac ultrasound and stress testing.

Dr. Mechanic exemplifies her dedication to cardiology in her dual roles at Mount Sinai Medical Center as the Associate Director of the Cardiology Fellowship Training Program and Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Columbia University Division of Cardiology. She continues to make significant contributions to clinical practice and medical education, while publishing on topics of interest.

Dr. Mechanic holds board certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and echocardiography. As a leading cardiologist, Dr. Mechanic continues her focus on advancing the field and improving patient outcomes through her clinical work.

Dr. Mechanic and Mount Sinai Medical Center partnered with Unrivaled, a professional women’s basketball league featuring top WNBA players, to serve as the league’s official cardiologist for the 2025 season. Dr. Mechanic, along with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, provided medical support during games, administered pre and postseason physicals, and conducted athletic cardiac evaluations, including cardiovascular imaging, for the athletes throughout the season.
