Joan Marc, MD, MS

Dr. Joan Marc is a hospitalist at Mount Sinai Medical Center. She earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She recently completed a global health and tropical medicine fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She also holds a Master of Science in Medical Technology from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York.

Dr. Marc’s clinical interests include global health, tropical medicine, quality improvement, and medical education. During her residency, she received certificates of distinction in quality improvement (Interdisciplinary Medical Pathways Across Training — IMPAcT) and advocacy for representation, equity, and social justice (MedCARES). She has completed global health rotations in Australia, India, Nicaragua, Peru, Panama, and Zambia. She has also volunteered with AmeriCorps, helping uninsured immigrants access free and low-cost medications.

Dr. Marc is fluent in English and is conversational in French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Haitian Creole.
