Dr. Clifford Medina serves as Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine and Chief of the Division of General Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center. In his role as Vice Chair, he collaborates with departmental and health system leadership to advance strategic and operational initiatives across clinical care, physician practice administration, research, medical education, faculty development, and patient quality and safety.

As Chief of General Medicine, Dr. Medina is dedicated to providing accessible, comprehensive, and evidence-based primary care to patients throughout South Florida. He cares for patients in both the outpatient and inpatient settings through the Mount Sinai Medical Center Concierge Primary Care Practice, with a focus on continuity of care and personalized, patient-centered medicine.

    Dr. Clifford Medina serves as Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine and Chief of the Division of General Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center. In his role as Vice Chair, he collaborates with departmental and health system leadership to advance strategic and operational initiatives across clinical care, physician practice administration, research, medical education, faculty development, and patient quality and safety.

    As Chief of General Medicine, Dr. Medina is dedicated to providing accessible, comprehensive, and evidence-based primary care to patients throughout South Florida. He cares for patients in both the outpatient and inpatient settings through the Mount Sinai Medical Center Concierge Primary Care Practice, with a focus on continuity of care and personalized, patient-centered medicine.

    A committed clinician-educator, Dr. Medina actively teaches residents in the Mount Sinai Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program and serves as a Voluntary Clinical Assistant Professor at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.

    Dr. Medina serves on several key committees at Mount Sinai Medical Center, including the Medical Review Committee, the Bioethics Committee, and the Medical Management Advisory Committee. He previously served as Medical Director of Mount Sinai Eldercare, a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), which delivers comprehensive interdisciplinary care designed to help older adults maintain independence within their communities.

    Dr. Medina earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard College in 1994 and his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1998. He completed his internship and residency training in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. In 2014, he earned a Master of Business Administration and a Certificate in Health Sector Management from Duke University Fuqua School of Business.
    Dr. Medina is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

    Dr. Medina is a Fellow of the American Association for Physician Leadership, recognized for his leadership experience, educational achievement, and contributions to the advancement of physician leadership. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, an honor that reflects his commitment to excellence, professionalism, scholarship, and service in internal medicine. In addition, Dr. Medina serves on the American Board of Internal Medicine Item-Writing Task Force, contributing to the development of certification examination content and Longitudinal Knowledge Assessments for physicians nationwide.
