During his residency, he served as Chief Administrative Resident and Clinical Instructor for New York Medical College and received several honors, including Intern of the Year, Resident of the Year, and separate distinctions recognizing his compassionate surgical care. He then completed his fellowship training in Advanced Gastrointestinal Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatrics from the University of Virginia, where he served as a Clinical Instructor and received the Fellowship Excellence in Teaching Award.

He is recognized for his leadership, clinical excellence, and patient-centered approach to surgical care.

    Dr. Baker has authored and presented research on several topics, including minimally invasive management of rare endocrine tumors, bariatric surgery, and surgical education. He has presented at departmental grand rounds and academic conferences, including work on obesity medicine and compassion in surgical practice.
