Building for the Future: Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center Updates

As we continue to make progress on the revolutionary Irma and Norman Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center, we’re happy to update that the interior partition framing is in progress, and elevator work has just begun along with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and sprinkler installation. Rough-in construction efforts are also well underway, which refer to the stage of a project where conduit, piping, ladder tray, ductwork and the required supporting elements, are installed before the final finishes.

In addition to this process, our construction teams are coordinating through building information modeling, or BIM, which is a computer software that stages 3D digital coordination of the work. This program resolves or eliminates conflicts and guarantees that the completed products will fit in their allotted space, such as in walls, above ceilings, and in mechanical rooms.

Set to be completed in early 2026, the Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center will redefine the cancer care experience and provide a holistic treatment process for its patients. Thank you to Irma and Norman Braman, and all of our lead donors. With their philanthropic leadership, Mount Sinai will continue to ensure that South Florida receives accessible, high quality cancer care for generations to come.
