Dr. Samira Shahzeidi is a board-certified family medicine physician who earned her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Cupecoy, St. Maarten. She completed her family medicine residency at Lynchburg Family Medicine Residency in Virginia.

Dr. Shahzeidi’s clinical interests include hospital medicine, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice. She uses a multidisciplinary approach to provide excellent care to hospitalized patients. Previously, she served as a hospitalist at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., where she had extensive experience diagnosing and managing patients in emergency and inpatient settings.

    Dr. Shahzeidi is committed to continuing her education in leadership, clinical practices, and patient care. She has made abstract and poster presentations on cardiovascular disease, and the peer-reviewed journal Pediatric Quality & Safety published her co-authored article on quality improvement in pediatric head trauma. She is also a member of professional societies, including the Society of Hospital Medicine and American Academy of Family Physicians.

    Outside of her professional service, she has volunteered for several organizations, including the Free Clinic of Central Virginia, Brigham and Woman’s Hospital, and Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN). She is fluent in Farsi and has a basic understanding of Spanish.
