Robert C. Goldszer began his role as chief medical officer and senior vice president for education and research at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida in May 2008. His focus is on quality of patient care, education and innovative research. Dr. Goldszer is an executive sponsor of the Mount Sinai Electronic Health Record implementation, and also holds appointments as a clinical professor of medicine at Florida International University College of Medicine and voluntary clinical professor of medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
From 1979-2008, Dr. Goldszer was a full-time faculty member at Harvard University’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, where he was responsible for several quality improvement programs. He was also the executive sponsor for the electronic medical record and the computerized discharge summary.
Dr. Goldszer earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Wisconsin, received his medical degree and internal medicine residency training from Drexel/Hahnemann University in Philadelphia and completed his renal fellowship at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in 1982. In June 1999, he received his MBA from Boston University’s Executive MBA Program and was elected to membership in Beta Gamma Sigma, the national honor society for business students.
