    Dr. Ruiz’s clinical and research interests include inflammatory bowel disease, hepatology, gastrointestinal bleeding, and nutrition in complex gastrointestinal disorders. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and case reports and has presented her research nationally at meetings of the American College of Gastroenterology and Digestive Disease Week.

    Throughout her training, Dr. Ruiz has received recognition for her academic excellence and research, including the Outstanding Poster Presenter Award at the American College of Gastroenterology. She is actively engaged in professional societies and has contributed to health policy advocacy and outreach efforts addressing health disparities.

    Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Ruiz is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for her patients. She is committed to advancing gastroenterology through research, teaching, and service to the community. On her time off, Dr. Ruiz enjoys going to the gym, cooking, traveling watching collegiate/pro sports and exploring scenic trails/hikes.
