    Dr. Manuel Borobia is a board-certified emergency medicine physician who earned his medical degree from Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami. He completed his emergency medicine residency at University of Florida in Gainesville, where he is also completing an anesthesia critical care fellowship, with cardiac, thoracic, transplant, trauma, surgical, neurological, and burn subspecialty training.

    Dr. Borobia’s clinical interests include critical care, quality improvement, hospital medicine, and medical education. As a medical educator, he has developed and led experiential simulation training such as ventricular fibrillation after cardiac surgery, neonatal resuscitation, and intubation. He has conducted research that focused on topics such as robotic bariatric surgery revisions, bone dysplasia, and cardiac arrest.

    Dr. Borobia has participated in several quality improvement and operations projects that include decreasing CT turnaround times, optimizing critical care ultrasound billing, and reducing ventilator times following cardiac surgery. His latest research entails assessing predictors of lung transplantation in Covid-19 patients on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.

    Dr. Borobia is certified in basic life support (BLS), advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS), advanced trauma life support (ATLS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS), emergency neurological life support (ENLS), and simulation education. He is also fluent in Spanish.
