    Dr. Rosario Alvarado obtained his medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), School of Medicine in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where he graduated Valedictorian, received accolades for his work on clinical and epidemiological characteristics of hepatic trauma in patients, and served as a medical educator. He completed his general surgery residency training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL. Following his residency, he completed his surgical critical care and trauma fellowship training at the University of Florida, College of Medicine in Jacksonville, FL.

    Dr. Rosario Alvarado focuses on treating patients with high acuity, life-threatening surgical and medical emergencies, and performs various routine general surgical procedures. Dr. Rosario Alvarado has contributed to research, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations on topics that include transcystic laparoscopic common bile duct exploration, postoperative hypocalcemia following a total thyroidectomy, colorectal pathology, tubular colonic duplication, rectal endometriosis, and sternal fractures in geriatric patients. His areas of clinical interest include acute care surgery, surgical critical care, trauma, hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, colorectal surgery, and global surgery.

    Dr. Luis E. Rosario Alvarado is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and Mayo Fellows Association.
