Dr. Kfir Ben-David serves as the Roni Jacobson Endowed Chair of Surgery and the Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, where he leads comprehensive clinical, educational, and operational initiatives.
Education and mentorship are central to Dr. Ben-David’s career. Since becoming Program Director in 2016, he has doubled the size of the surgical residency, strengthened recruitment from top-tier medical schools, and cultivated a culture of inclusivity that has significantly increased the representation of women and underrepresented minorities in surgery. Under his leadership, Mount Sinai’s surgical graduates have consistently matched into highly competitive fellowships nationwide, and the department’s clinical research program has flourished, with faculty and residents collaborating on impactful, peer-reviewed studies.
