Dr. Jacob Schwartzman is a vascular surgeon at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida.

Dr. Schwartzman earned his medical degree at Boston University Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts and completed his residency in general surgery at Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School, in Newark, New Jersey. During residency, he also obtained a Master’s in Public Health from Rutgers University School of Public Health. He completed his fellowship in vascular surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where he trained in complex aortic surgery (open and endovascular), lower extremity angiography and bypass surgery, limb salvage, mesenteric occlusive disease, and venous disease. He has a vested interest in hemodialysis access creation and maintenance, and also performs laparoscopic peritoneal dialysis catheter placement to provide the whole spectrum of surgical dialysis care.

Dr. Schwartzman is double board-certified in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society for Vascular Surgery and the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Society. He is one of the emeritus editors of Audible Bleeding, the Vascular Surgery Podcast, and has published over 30 episodes on a variety of topics in vascular surgery. He has presented at national and international vascular surgery meetings. He has special interests in patient-centered care, improving surgical outcomes, and surgical education.

Dr. Schwartzman is fluent in Russian.
