Dr. Guillermo Garcia serves as Co-Chief of Anesthesia Clinical Services at Mount Sinai Medical Center. A board-certified anesthesiologist with more than 30 years of experience, he earned his medical degree from Universidad Central del Este School of Medicine in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic. He completed residencies in anesthesiology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and in family medicine through Rutgers University at St. Mary Medical Center in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Dr. Garcia specializes in cardiothoracic anesthesia, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols, and coordinated perioperative care. His leadership on Mount Sinai Medical Center’s Blood Bank, Surgical Review, Medical Executive, ERAS, and Cardiac ERAS committees supports safe, high-quality care throughout the surgical experience. He chairs the ERAS Committee and co-chairs the Cardiac ERAS Committee.

Dr. Garcia is also a dedicated educator who has held faculty appointments at Florida International University, New York Medical College, the University of Miami, the University of South Florida, and Barry University. He teaches medical students, nurse anesthetist students, and anesthesiology residents.

Throughout his career, Dr. Garcia has remained committed to advancing patient-centered perioperative care and educating the next generation of healthcare professionals.
