Dr. Daniela Urina Jassir is a board-certified clinical and non-invasive cardiologist at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Dr. Urina earned her medical degree from Universidad Del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia. She completed her internal medicine residency training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL, and was appointed Chief Medical Resident. She completed her heart failure fellowship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL, followed by her cardiology fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine, where she was designated Chief Cardiology Fellow.

Throughout her training, Dr. Urina earned multiple awards for her clinical skills, professionalism, and compassionate care. These awards include the Howard Kane Resident of the Year Award, the Chief Resident Award, the Maimonides Award, and the Albert L. Hyman Fellow of the Year Award.

As a clinical cardiologist, Dr. Urina pairs the latest findings in cardiovascular research with her diverse clinical medical expertise to provide high-quality, personalized patient care. She is passionate about preventing cardiovascular disease and treating acute and chronic heart disease through evidence-based medicine. Dr. Urina’s academic endeavors have contributed to teaching, research, and presentations on cardio-metabolic syndrome, obesity, heart failure with preserved and reduced ejection fraction, hypertension, coronary artery disease, and cardiac imaging.

Dr. Urina is board-certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Disease, American Board of Internal Medicine, the National Board of Echocardiography, and the National Board of Nuclear Cardiology.

Dr. Urina is fluent in English and Spanish.
