Dr. Clifford Medina is the Chief of General Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center. As leader of his division, he is dedicated to ensuring that Mount Sinai Primary Care provides accessible, comprehensive, and evidence-based healthcare to patients across South Florida. Dr. Medina cares for patients in the office and in the hospital setting through the Mount Sinai Medical Center Concierge Primary Care Practice. Dr. Medina is a clinical educator, actively teaching general internal medicine to residents in the Mount Sinai Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program. He also serves as Voluntary Clinical Assistant Professor for Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University.

Dr. Medina earned his undergraduate degree in 1994 at Harvard College and his medical degree in 1998 at Harvard Medical School. He subsequently completed his internal medicine internship and residency training at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Medina obtained a Master of Business Administration and a Certificate in Health Sector Management (HSM) from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in 2014.

Prior to joining Mount Sinai, Dr. Medina held the positions of Internal Medicine Hospitalist and Team Lead at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina. While there, he also served as chair of the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease committee and as a physician advisor. He is board-certified in internal medicine and board-certified in sleep medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Medina is a member of various professional organizations including the Society of Hospital Medicine and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and he is a fellow of the American Association of Physician Leaders where he has been recognized for his leadership experience, educational preparation and contribution to the field of physician leadership. He is also a fellow of the American College of Physicians where he has been recognized for his demonstration of integrity, professionalism, and scholarship throughout his career.
