Dr. Aradhya Nigam is a board-certified complex general surgical oncologist specializing in the surgical management of breast, melanoma, soft tissue sarcoma, head and neck, neuroendocrine, and endocrine malignancies. His clinical interests include the multidisciplinary management of thyroid and endocrine malignancies, breast cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, minimally invasive and robotic oncologic surgery, and improving outcomes for patients with advanced and metastatic disease through evidence-based surgical and systemic treatment strategies.
Dr. Nigam earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia and then completed his general surgery residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he also served in multiple academic leadership roles. During his training, he completed an NIH-funded T32 post-doctoral research fellowship in understanding mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapy in cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Nigam subsequently completed his fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where he focused on advanced oncologic surgery and translational cancer research.
His extensive research portfolio includes numerous peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, and national presentations focusing on tumor biology, thyroid cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, hepatobiliary malignancies, and surgical oncology outcomes. His work has been supported by NIH training grants and competitive surgical research awards.
Dr. Nigam is actively engaged in academic surgery, with a strong focus on improving outcomes in complex cancer care through innovation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based surgical practice.
