Dr. Anirudh Penumaka is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine and completed the Harvard Medical School combined neurosurgery residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Boston Medical Center. He then completed a complex spine fellowship at Brown University’s Rhode Island Hospital. He also holds a Master of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Oxford and an A.B. with honors from Harvard College.

Dr. Penumaka treats a broad range of spinal and neurological conditions, with a focus on endoscopic spine surgery – a minimally invasive approach that reduces pain and accelerates recovery. He also has extensive experience in treating spinal and brain tumors. He has also published and presented research spanning neurovascular and spine topics.

Dr. Penumaka is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
