Alejandro Matus, MD is a neurologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of neurological conditions, including stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, headaches, dementia, and neuromuscular disease.

Dr. Matus was born in Miami, Florida and received his undergraduate bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at Florida International University in Miami, FL. He stayed in Miami and went on to earn his medical degree at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. He completed his neurology residency training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he gained extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient care.

Prior to his neurology training, Dr. Matus obtained several peer-reviewed publications in neuro-oncologic literature. In addition, Dr. Matus has participated in longitudinal mentorship and service programs such as MedLEAD and NeighborhoodHELP, providing resources to medical students and household-centered care to those in need. He is also proficient in medical Spanish and is committed to serving a diverse patient population. His goal is to treat every patient with respect and compassion, providing patient-centered care for each individual’s unique needs and circumstances. He is dedicated to helping his patients achieve the best outcomes possible through a collaborative, patient-focused approach.
