Dr. Bhandari is the director of robotic surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is also the co-chief and an assistant professor of urology at the Columbia University Division of Urology at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

A graduate of the Vattikuti Urology Institute at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Dr. Bhandari completed his residency in urology and a fellowship in robotic and minimally invasive surgery under the tutelage of Dr. Mani Menon, a pioneer in robotic surgery. He was a member of the founding robotic surgery team at the Vattikuti Urology Institute, which has performed more than 6,000 robotic procedures. During his training, Dr. Bhandari was an integral member of the teams that developed techniques to perform robotic-assisted kidney and pediatric urologic procedures.

Dr. Bhandari is one of the most experienced robotic surgeons in Florida, having performed more than 750 robotic procedures, including radical prostatectomy, nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, radical cystectomy and other complex robotic urologic procedures. He also offers catheter-less robotic prostatectomy, as well as a unique approach to robotic partial nephrectomy that removes cancerous tissue and utilizes warm ischemia to minimize injury to the surrounding kidney. Dr. Bhandari has been invited to demonstrate live surgeries around the world and is the international coordinator for the network of Vattikuti Institutes of Robotic Surgery in India and across the globe. As the international coordinator, he mentors teams at new institutes on a regular basis. His other clinical interests include endourology/kidney stones and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Dr. Bhandari has more than 40 peer reviewed publications in various national and international journals. He is fluent in English and Hindi.
