About Dr. Robert I. Goldberg
Dr. Robert I. Goldberg graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 1979 with a Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship in gastroenterology at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Veterans Administration Hospital, which are affiliated with the University of Miami. Dr. Goldberg is an associate in the Division of Gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Medical Center and an associate professor of medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, and has 27 years of experience practicing in Miami.
Dr. Goldberg specializes in the management of gastroenterological strictures; endoscopic mucosal resection and dissection; inflammatory bowel disease; gastrointestinal bleeding; and biliary and pancreatic diseases. He is also an accomplished endoscopist, performing procedures such as esophageal manometry, diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy, enteroscopy, colonoscopy and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Dr. Goldberg sees a broad range of complex tertiary referral patients in his medical practice.
The author/co-author of multiple book chapters, abstracts and peer-reviewed articles, Dr. Goldberg is a fellow of both the American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians. He is past president of the Dade County Medical Association and the Florida Gastroenterologic Society, and formerly served on the Florida Medical Association’s Board of Governors. He also lectures at universities, conferences and healthcare organizations across the country.
