Universidad Central de Venezuela Luis Razetti School of Medicine in Caracas, Venezuela. He completed anesthesiology residency training at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. He also completed a general surgery internship and clinical research fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, in Boston, Mass.
