Gerald Rosen, MD, FASA

Dr. Gerald Rosen is the Designated Institutional Official of the Department of Anesthesiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he plays a pivotal role in advancing graduate medical education and physician training. He is a board-certified anesthesiologist specializing in cardiac anesthesiology with more than two decades of experience providing anesthesia care for patients undergoing complex cardiovascular and surgical procedures.

Dr. Rosen earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. He completed his anesthesiology residency training at University of South Florida in Tampa, where he also served as Chief Resident. Later, he completed additional training in the Global Healthcare Leadership Program at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also the inventor and patent holder of an innovative mask ventilation assist device.

A dedicated educator and physician leader, Dr. Rosen is the founding Anesthesiology Residency Program Director at Mount Sinai Medical Center and serves as Chair of the Graduate Medical Education Committee. He holds multiple academic appointments, including Adjunct Professor at New York Medical College, Clinical Dean at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine for Mount Sinai Medical Center, and other clinical faculty positions in several medical and nurse anesthesiology programs. He is also a fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
