Building for the Future

As we approach the opening of the Irma and Norman Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center this May, we’re proud to announce that Mount Sinai Medical Center received its Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO) on schedule in early February.

Following the TCO, towards the end of February, major system calibration for our state-of-the-art imaging equipment was completed as well. Our dedicated construction teams have begun installing and placing modern furniture and loose medical equipment, bringing us closer to our complete vision. This effort will extend through April as we complete the interior furnishings and finish installing technology.

Alongside the progress on the building, our teams have accelerated their efforts towards the staff transition to the new space. Our care teams have been participating in detailed virtual training sessions since last year. Now, they’re able to utilize the facility itself to simulate the patient experience from start to finish, including imaging and diagnostic sessions.

The new Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center opens to our community on May 4^th, 2026. This new building will redefine the cancer care experience and provide holistic treatment for the patients we serve. Thank you to Irma and Norman Braman, and all our lead donors.
