President’s Message
May 2025

To Our Philanthropic Family,

As the summer approaches, we hope you will find time for family, rest, and relaxation. As always, we’d like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued engagement and dedication to our mission. As we celebrate 75 years of health care excellence in South Florida, we recognize that your impactful philanthropic leadership fuels our progress.

Thanks to your involvement with the medical center, I’m excited to share three high-level expansion projects in development, in addition to the opening of the Irma and Norman Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center in early 2026.

First, we continue to make progress on our Westchester Freestanding Emergency Center, which will open in mid-2026. The four-story building will be our largest freestanding emergency center with 27 bays and advanced diagnostic and imaging capabilities.

Additionally, the center will seamlessly integrate with our Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein Behavioral Health department, ensuring that the community receives the physical and emotional care they need.

Over the course of the next three to five years, the Westchester location will be developed to include a limited number of inpatient beds, observation beds, and a procedural platform for surgeries. The final phase of this extensive project is the construction of a separate medical office building on the same property.

Our comprehensive Westchester expansion will create much-needed access for the immediate and surrounding communities who trust Mount Sinai’s nationally recognized expertise, without the need to travel long distances.

Second, we’re proud to announce the opening of our new physician offices in East Hialeah later this year. Our new location consists of 33,000 square feet of multidisciplinary clinical and office space. The building will open this July, offering primary care services, with urology and cardiology services to follow shortly after. This is a multi-phase project, so we anticipate full occupancy within 18 to 24 months, and are pursuing ongoing upgrades and interior enhancements to the facility.

Lastly, we’d like to recognize our new expansion in Key West. This past April, our new facility opened, offering primary care, walk-in services, and diagnostics, including CT, X-ray, and ultrasound. This opening marked another important milestone as Mount Sinai continues to expand our services and specialties in Monroe County.

These key developments allow our expert physicians and services to reach the communities who need it most. Mount Sinai remains focused on expanding our trusted brand of care across South Florida, and we look forward to continuing to share our progress.

I hope you enjoy reading more news and updates in this newsletter and thank you for your dedication to our medical center.
