She has also contributed to quality improvement efforts aimed at reducing physician administrative burden through optimization of clinical workflows.

    Her scholarly activity includes a quality improvement project focused on reducing physician in-basket messaging burden and improving clinic efficiency, as well as published work describing a rare case of Horner syndrome following anterior cervical laminectomy.

    Dr. Bernhardt is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support.

    In addition to her medical training, she has experience in athletic coaching and leadership, including serving as a collegiate varsity basketball team captain.
