Dr. Paul Couto is a radiologist at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He graduated magna cum laude with a medical degree from American University of Antigua. He completed an internship in general surgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. Afterwards, he completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, where he served as Chief Resident. He also completed a fellowship in Neuroradiology in Boston, Massachusetts, working at Harvard Medical School teaching hospitals including Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary and Boston Children’s Hospital.

    Dr. Paul Couto is a radiologist at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He graduated magna cum laude with a medical degree from American University of Antigua. He completed an internship in general surgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire.  Afterwards, he completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, where he served as Chief Resident. He also completed a fellowship in Neuroradiology in Boston, Massachusetts, working at Harvard Medical School teaching hospitals including Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary and Boston Children’s Hospital.

    Dr. Couto’s research contributions include various peer-reviewed publications, including publications in the American Journal of Neuroradiology and the International Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.  He has multiple accepted educational exhibits at national meetings including the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR), Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the Florida Radiological Society (FRS). He is actively involved in resident education and call/board exam readiness and has contributed various quality improvement projects, including those involving the utilization of artificial intelligence for addressing workflow optimization and minimizing repetitive stress injury.  Clinically, he is particularly interested in head and neck imaging, including oropharyngeal, sinonasal, orbital, skull base, cranial nerve and temporal bone imaging.

    Dr. Couto has been recognized with many awards, including the Evelyn and Harry Indurski Resident in Radiology Award (2021) for leadership and professionalism, and multiple Resident of the Month honors while completing his radiology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
