Family and friends in need of a quiet place to pray or reflect are encouraged to visit the Levy Chapel, adjacent to the de Hirsch Meyer Tower lobby on the Mount Sinai Campus or on the Miami Heart Campus located on the 5th floor of the Tower building.
Jewish holidays are celebrated with traditional services atMount Sinai Medical Center and Miami Heart Institute. For those who observe dietary laws, kosher food is available to patients and visitors upon request. Sabbath elevators are located in the Blum Building at Mount Sinai and in the main lobby at the Miami Heart Institute. Sabbath elevators have been designated to stop automatically at each floor from 6 p.m. on Friday until 8 p.m. on Saturday and on Jewish holidays.
Additionally, Bikur Cholim, an organization of volunteers, is available to visit patients and their families and offer assistance with kosher meals by contacting Volunteer Services at 305-674-2080.
Clergy for christian and other religions are available through the Volunteer Services Department at 305-674-2080. Sacraments are available daily. Prayer books, Sabbath electric candles and other religious items also are also available through the Volunteer Department.
