Visitor Regulations

  • Visitors will be limited to two at time and are encouraged to visit after 4 p.m. to allow sufficient time for patient care and treatment or procedures that are done during the peak hours of the day. It also may be necessary, however, for you or your doctor to restrict visitors.
  • Because we believe it is important to promote an environment that supports wellness and disease prevention as well as medical treatment and healing, Mount Sinai is proud to be tobacco-free. The use of tobacco products is not permitted in patient rooms or anywhere on any of our campuses or satellite centers.
  • People with colds, sore throats or any contagious diseases should not visit patients,
  • Visits should be kept short.
  • Visitors should maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise.
  • Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient privately.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times and should not be left unattended in any waiting area. No more than one child may visit a patient at a time.
