Mount Sinai Medical Center located in Miami Beach, FL continues to achieve national recognition for its high practice standards in healthcare by receiving accreditation for both its radiology and echocardiography programs.
The Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL) granted accreditation to Mount Sinai's echocardiography lab as one of the few laboratories in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico recognized for its commitment to high quality patient care and its provision of quality diagnostic testing for heart disease. Echocardiography is a complex imaging technique that relies on the expert interpretive and technical abilities that determine precise diagnostic accuracy.
The American College of Radiology has also awarded Mount Sinai a three-year team of accreditation extending into 2013 in obstetrics, gynecological, general and vascular ultrasound services including peripheral vascular, cerebrovascular, abdominal vascular and deep abdominal vascular. Evaluations were conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who assessed the qualifications of Mount Sinai personnel and the adequacy of the facility's equipment.
