Miami Beach, FL, (August 16, 2010) – Mount Sinai Medical Center has named Juan-Carlos Brenes, M.D. F.A.C.C., F.A.S.E. as Co-Director of the Mount Sinai Non-Invasive Echocardiography Lab. In this role, he will be bringing his special expertise in advanced echocardiography, including 3-D imaging. Dr. Brenes joins Mount Sinai from Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida where he was a cardiologist with their echocardiography lab and the director of the Lipid Clinic.
A native of Costa Rica, Dr. Brenes attended the University of Miami where he studied internal medicine as part of the Harrington Medical Training Program and completed his cardiology fellowship. He later completed his advanced echocardiography fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center, currently affiliated with the Mount Sinai Heart Institute. Dr. Brenes is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Echocardiography.
