The Emergency Room at Mount Sinai's Aventura location On January 28, 2008, Mount Sinai Medical Center opened a new state-of-the-art Emergency Room on its Aventura campus. Located at 2845 Aventura Boulevard, the emergency room is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for walk-in patients and those arriving by ambulance. The Mount Sinai Aventura ER is staffed by emergency-trained physician and nurses, and backed by a full roster of on-call specialists. The freestanding ER features 16 exam/treatment bays and is supported by dedicated imaging and laboratory services. Patients requiring hospital admission are transported to Mount Sinai's main Miami Beach location where they can be treated by their doctors in a hospital they know and trust.

The Emergency Room at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach The Emergency Medicine Department at Mount Sinai Medical Center is Miami Beach's only emergency care provider. The expert staff of emergency physicians, nurses and technicians treat everything from minor illnesses to major injuries. The department is backed by a full array of on-call specialists, including neurologists, interventional cardiologists and surgeons. Mount Sinai also has the distinction of being the only medical center in South Florida that has an accredited residency program to mentor and teach future doctors in emergency medicine. 30-Minutes to Care Mount Sinai understands that you can't always wait in an emergency. Therefore, we promise that you'll be seen by a physician, physician's assistant or nurse practitioner within 30 minutes of arrival in our emergency department. We believe every minute counts in an emergency and that our patients deserve the best possible care and service and we work to provide it 24 hours a day, every day.
Minor Care Unit In addition to providing highly skilled emergency care and training, the department has an eight-bed Minor Care Unit where patients with less serious medical conditions such as sprained ankles, can be seen and treated more quickly. The Minor Care Unit, open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. It is staffed by a team of emergency professionals including Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses and ER technicians under the direct supervision of the attending ER physician. Patients admitted to the Minor Care Unit are treated and discharged more quickly.
Rapid Response Mount Sinai's Emergency Department also is trained to respond to major catastrophes, from hurricanes to plane crashes and chemical weapons attacks. Mount Sinai has invested considerably in staff training and equipment to ensure that it is fully prepared to cooperate with other local agencies when aid is needed. Additionally, the medical serves as one of Miami-Dade County's essential Medical Management Facilities - a refuge of last resort for individuals who are oxygen or electricity-dependent during a crisis.
