Application Process
Thank you for your interest in our prgram. Please apply through ERAS as we are participating in the Match 2011 class. Our deadline to apply is January 4, 2010.
In addition to the application you will need to include:
- Medical School diploma
- USMLE scores
- ECFMG certificate (if applicable)
- 3 letters of recommendation, including one from your Program Director, stating your expected date of completion and your standing within the program.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
Mount Sinai Medical Center supports ECFMG J-1 visa sponsorship for residents in training at this institution. Mount Sinai Medical Center also supports H-1B visa sponsorship.
To be eligible for the J-1 visa the applicant must:
- Pass USMLE steps 1 and 2
- Pass the Clinical Skills Assessment (test administered by the ECFMG)
- Pass the TOEFL English examination
- Have a current and valid ECFMG certificate
These conditions must be completed at the time of the NRMP (Match) or appointment to the residency program.
To be eligible for the H-1B visa the applicant must:
- Complete all 4 steps above
- Pass USMLE step 3
- Be registered with the Florida Board of Medicine (Tallahassee, FL)
If applicant has not yet taken and passed Step 3, the exam must be taken no later than the last week of January 2007, and the applicant must have already applied to take Step 3. Applicant must provide written confirmation that s/he has applied to take Step 3. If the applicant has not applied by the end of December to take Step 3 in January, Mount Sinai will not sponsor applicant for an H-1B visa.
