We have two (2) positions offered in the Department of Pathology at Mount Sinai Medical Center each year. We accept applications through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) and all applicants must be enrolled in the Match Program since Mount Sinai participates in the National Resident Matching Program. Below are some of the requirements to apply to our program:

Score requirement for USMLE Step I and Step II minimum of 80 and MUST have passed on the first time. (We also accept COMLEX results for osteopathic medical schools.)

Three letters of recommendation.

A personal statement
Other information:

Our program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

Graduation time should be withing 10 years.

It is not necessary to have an observership, externship or clinical experience in the United States to be eligible to apply to our program.

If you are a foreign graduate you must have an ECFMG certificate.

You must be legally eligible to work in the United States (Either a U.S. Citizen, a permanent resident, or possess or be eligible for a J-1 Visa)

MSMC sponsors J-1 visas and H1B visas (We will sponsor H-1B visas but you must have taken and passed USMLE Step 3 at the time of your application)

The application deadline is 11/01/09. Interviews will be held from October 19 - December 18.
Upon receipt of the completed application, our selection committee will review all materials. Invitations for interview will be offered by e-mail, a phone call and followed by a formal letter in the mail confirming the day of interview.
